Love them or hate them being on a committee can be a disaster! Everyone has an opinion and they all are terrible. What you think is a great idea is someone else’s pitfall. But there is always power in a group.
I was readying Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill and there was commentary by Sharon Lechter. In her commentary there was a equation of:
((P+T) x A1 x A2) + F = Your Personal Success Equation
(I’ve added subscripts for later use)
Let me explain the variables: P = Passion, T = Talent, A1 = Association, A2 =Action, F= Faith
Alright so let’s say you’re going to do something alone, your equation might look like this:
((P+T) x A2) + F = Your Personal Success Equation
You can have all the passion, talent, action, and faith to accomplish your dream or achieve your goal. You are missing association. In this case, it is a multiplier.
When you have the right people, join the right groups, it can make your action be much more valuable than if you did it alone. There is a saying that you are the average of the top 5 or 10 people you hang around the most. By designing your life to be around those you look up to or admire you can achieve greater than by yourself.
That’s why I created Dad.First. Being around the right people can have a drastic impact on your life. If it’s positive you can have the best experiences and if it’s negative, you will have the worst experiences. My goal is to make it the best group possible and use the power of the group to be the best dad and parent I can be.
As a parent the association variable is power in choosing the right spouse. They will help make you the best version of yourself dad after day. No mentor, coach, or friend could do that.
Think about who you surround yourself with, it makes a difference.
